Yet another ‘secret’ visit

Mysterious markings in Queen’s Crescent
• YET another “secret” visit to Queen’s Crescent by Camden’s officers and a councillor. This time it was August 20 by two officers and Cllr Marcus Boyland and their entourage.
This fourth time it seemed to be to inspect the painting in the picture of a [what? – see above] on the crescent, (Queen’s Crescent wavy line: ‘It’s meant to look like that…’, August 26).
Pity the money is not being spent on repairing the dangerous broken paving, clearing the blocked drains, mending the broken street furniture and filling in the potholes.
We did get to see two crescent “champions”, not visible for the last month. When asked why the times of their presence was not advertised in shop windows, we were told this was for “health and safety reasons”. Presumably, fear of being mobbed by crowds welcoming the road closure scheme.
To be fair the two champions did listen to the views of some of us, unlike the rest of the visitation which scuttled off to a “meeting”, ignoring, again residents.
Perhaps they went to view the road works on Mansfield Road, reported to be costing £450,000. No progress on reopening the food bank, which had to be severely reduced over a month ago because of road closures and reimposition of rent on the community centre.
Never mind we, can all look at the road painting and guess what it is. It would also be interesting to see copies of the reports written by officers and councillors of these visits as we were promised.
