DEFENDER Alex Scott insists that Arsenal Ladies can shake off their recent Champions League disappointment as they enter what she calls the “most exciting” season to date.
The Gunners begin their campaign with a defence of their Women’s FA Cup title when they host Gillingham in the fifth round on Sunday.
And they are back in action next Wednesday when they travel to Notts County in their opening FA Women’s Super League match.
Fans are still reeling from Arsenal’s Champions League defeats by Birmingham City but, after starring in England’s 9-0 win over Montenegro on Saturday, Scot (pictured) remains upbeat.
“I think this season is going to be the most exciting so far,” said the 29-year-old. “Every game is going to be competitive.
“On an Arsenal front, the two Champions League games show that we are not there yet and still have things to work on, but we have got a talented bunch and we’re not far off.”
Arsenal host Gillingham at Boreham Wood FC on Sunday at 2pm, while their game against Notts County will be live on Radio 5 Live Sports Extra.
