HAMPSTEAD Women are just one win away from the first round proper of the FA Cup after beating KIKK United on Sunday at Mile End Stadium.
John Baker’s side needed less than 60 seconds to open the scoring at the weekend as Raquel Lewis controlled Char Blackmore’s cross, side-stepped a defender and slotted the ball into the corner of the net.
Captain Ellie Bard set-up Becky Barnes for Hampstead’s second, before Lewis wrapped up a 3-0 win late on with her second of the game.
The triumphant side will now host Cambridge Women in the third qualifying round at the Hampstead Heath Extension on Sunday, November 13.
Excited manager John said: “There’s something so special about playing in the FA Cup. The rich history gives each game a romance that is unparalleled by anything else at our level.”
