A WOMAN has been taken to hospital after a “substance” was thrown at her in Kentish Town.

Emergency services were called to Kentish Town Road just before 7am and say a woman, in her 30s, had suffered injuries “after a substance was thrown at her”.

Her skin was doused with water at the scene and then she was taken to a central London hospital. The Met Police say they are awaiting an update on her condition but her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

The Met said the substance is not believed to have been acid, but they are awaiting confirmation. No arrests have been made.

A London Ambulance Service spokeswoman said they were called to “an incident” on the road this morning.

She added: “We dispatched an ambulance crew, an incident response officer and our hazardous area response team (HART) to the scene.

“We treated a woman at the scene and took her to hospital.”

Anyone who witnessed this incident and has not yet spoken with police is asked to call 101 quoting 1126/5DEC or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
