A 67-year-old woman is fighting for her life in hospital after being assaulted at a home in Primrose Hill this morning.

Police were called to a home in Fitzroy Road in the early hours of Wednesday and found the woman suffering from serious head injuries. She is in a critical condition in hospital.

A 35-year-old man was arrested at the scene on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.

Police said: “At this stage it is believed the victim and suspect were known to each other.”
