• THE rising clamour within the Tory ranks for a Boris and Theresa swap at the helm of the sinking ship shows to what level of political bankruptcy, as well as contempt for the British public, the party has sunk.

Especially for the majority of us Londoners, who have been suffering the consequences of the ruthless shrinking of our public realm at the hands of our Marie-Antoinette-let-them-eat-cake former mayor.

For, indeed, the average good citizen of this great city may not have afforded to put a roof over his/her head but, had Boris Johnson had his way, he/she could have taken a stroll on his – and Joanna Lumley’s splendid Garden Bridge. And, no doubt, watch his/her tears swell the waters of the Thames.
