Chief executive Jenny Rowlands came to talk to Ellen Nkomo, who chained herself to the council’s headquarters after being fobbed off for years over housing repairs

• I READ with interest your articles highlighting problems people have accessing good and responsive services from Camden Council.

I have tried on numerous occasions to contact the council about a long-standing repair but have been left feeling frustrated and desperate about what to do next.

I can only conclude that there is an urgent need to review how these services are being managed.

One of your articles highlighted Camden’s chief executive, Jenny Rowlands, coming to the rescue of a woman who felt desperate enough to chain herself to council offices, (Nurse chains herself to council’s HQ over housing repairs wait, January 21).

Surely this is enough evidence that something needs to change, and quick, before other residents are forced to take such drastic action.

Ms Rowlands, some of us are tired of talking to automated services and being told to go online to report repairs.

A resident on a low income, I do not even own a computer, probably like many people in Camden. Many residents feel abandoned!
