“WE’VE just got to hit the ground running,” Arsenal Ladies boss Laura Harvey has said as her side resume their FA Women’s Super League action on Sunday at Everton’s Marine FC.
Harvey welcomed six Team GB Olympians back to training this week and they are coming straight back into the fray after having had a week off watching London 2012 Games events.
“We prepared for the six to be at the Olympics until it finished and they have had a breather but not a holiday,” Harvey said. “Everton is a hard game to come to after the break but we have a really strong squad.”
Missing out on a medal was a disappointing end to the Olympics for the Arsenal group but they return to domestic action with their club in rude health. Harvey’s side are eight points clear at the top of the table going into this second part of the season with seven games gone. And though Everton are historically tough opponents, the League champions will be looking for three points.
