FAR from fearing Arsenal’s upcoming fixture pile-up, Arsene Wenger is convinced it could help his side win the Premier League – providing, of course, they keep on winning.

The Gunners face five games in two weeks, starting away at Cardiff on Saturday and ending away at Manchester City on December 14.

For good measure there’s even a crucial away game at Napoli in the Champions League sandwiched in the middle.

Wenger has been accused of grumbling in the past when games come too thick and fast, but this time the Frenchman believes it can help – not hinder – Arsenal’s title bid.

“The confidence of the team is vital. In the Premier League the differences are so small that the confidence can make a massive difference,” said the Gunners’ boss.

“We are in November – we are at the moment just showing that we are a strong team, and trying to improve. We have still a lot of room for improvement and that’s what is at stake for us, to become a stronger team from game to game.”

Fans, pundits and reporters are now talking about Arsenal as serious silverware contenders after wins over the likes of Liverpool and German giants Borussia Dortmund.

Wenger says the run of results has done wonders for his players’ confidence and is a key factor to why they keep on winning.

“Our recent results have been good,” he said. “These are, of course, linked with quality but also linked with the quality of attitude of the players. It is always difficult to know if you win because the players have a good attitude or do the players have a good attitude because you win? I think you win when the players have a good approach to the game and that is what we have.

“The confidence is linked with the recent results.”
