Marshal halting the traffic to escort Deliveroo riders across the A41

• CAMDEN officers’ decision to recommend Deliveroo be allowed to remain running their operation in Swiss Cottage is deeply concerning and serves only to confirm what many of us have suspected for years; if our council’s current planning policy is not actually corrupt, then it is unfair and unfit for purpose, (Betrayed by planners who say Deliveroo should stay, March 10).

Seemingly determined to ignore the evidence of residents, and clearly intent on securing the financial rewards that will accrue from allowing Deliveroo to continue its operation from premises which would in normal circumstances be deemed inappropriate and dangerous, officers have chosen to side with that company against residents’ understandable concerns at their lives being daily disturbed.

If the planning committee now ignores the painstakingly documented and photographed evidence of Deliveroo’s condition infringements, in order to allow them to continue to operate in Swiss Cottage, then that decision will simply confirm the suspicion that there is something rotten and immoral about the state of the Camden planning system.
