Camden planning committee visit the Museum St site 1

Join the Save Museum Street deputation at Camden Town Hall, Judd Street, at 7pm on November 16

• AS we wait for the highly contentious One Museum Street development to come before Camden’s planning committee on Thursday November 16, Save Museum Street campaigners have been out labelling the trees that will be cut down should this application get approval.

The 10 trees are but a small part of the destruction required. The entire Travelodge tower and its car park, the Victorian stable block and the insides of most of the buildings bounded by West Central Street, Museum Street and New Oxford Street are due for the chop.

It will be interesting to hear what the planning committee made of their trip round the site (see the photograph, above).

Will they vote for this monstrous office block with its mean offering of dark and dingy social housing and huge emissions of CO2 or will they take the responsible decision to refuse it, abide by their own policies, and live up to their promise to protect the climate and conserve the environment?

Join the Save Museum Street deputation at Camden Town Hall, Judd Street, at 7pm on November 16 to demand that Camden does the right thing!
