Why waste money on gimmicky street lamps?

The proposed coloured street lamps

• AS part of the ongoing “never beginning” regeneration of Queen’s Crescent, the current street lamps are to be replaced with taller, modern primary-coloured lamps – yes – multi-coloured!

Why? There’s nothing wrong with the current ones which could be updated. This is a Victorian street and as a resident I have never been consulted about this.

The London borough of Camden’s very own guidelines state all street furniture design to be in keeping with its environment and black.

Why do we have to have gimmicky street lamps wasting more public money and natural resources?
