Why no action on this fly-tipping?

Fly-tipping in Gospel Oak
• RESIDENTS of Gospel Oak have to continue to suffer huge amounts of fly-tipping. The photograph (above) is of a shocking amount which has been in Weedington Road for over a week and grows daily.
It seems Camden Council, Veolia, and our councillors are both unconcerned and inactive about our situation. An earlier letter and photo in your paper of hazardous waste next to a children’s play area, close by this pile did, in fact, result in action, (We need a review of the system to deal with rubbish, June 6).
There is a council staff office yards away from this dump and other council staff pass regularly by, and maybe even a councillor or two.
Surely it is part of their job to deal with this and other nearby similar dumps.
No doubt the response, if one is forthcoming, is that it is the fault of government cuts. What is needed is a root-and-branch, independent, review of the failed waste strategy and the failure to address it.
