Why Israel’s conduct is of public interest
Thursday, 11th May 2017
• DR Barry Hoffbrand (I look forward to a more balanced approach from Sir Geoffrey, May 4) has completely missed the point of my article (Israel’s conduct is of public interest, Forum, April 27).
Its sole object was to warn that the flawed International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance definition of anti-Semitism adopted by Camden Council and many others can be, and is being, used to suppress legitimate debate about the conduct of the state of Israel towards Palestinians.
A comparable attempt to censor criticism of Palestinian conduct towards Israel would be equally objectionable, but I am not aware that there has been any.
As his long catalogue of serious but unsubstantiated accusations against Palestinians is published prominently in your paper, Dr Hoffbrand can hardly claim otherwise.
