Arsenal fans better get their radios ready
FOOTBALL fans often lament the death of the 3pm kick off on a Saturday afternoon, the traditional time for weekend matches,
At the same time, supporters of the big teams find it hard to get tickets to a lot of the matches and rely on live coverage of their favourite side.
It is something of a surprise then that given Arsenal’s involvement in the title race this season that the next three league matches will not be shown as they happen.
This starts with today’s trip to Leicester City, which fans who can’t make the trip or do not have an away end ticket will need to follow on the radio.
Next weekend, Arsenal will have another Saturday 3pm slot as fans head to the Emirates Stadium to see Mikel Arteta’s team play Bournemouth.,
This falls under the Saturday blockade on showing live football, aimed at protecting match day attendances. But in between, there’s a midweek game at home to Everton, which has also has no live coverage despite the importance of the match.
Live football on TV today includes Bournemouth vs Manchester City and then Crystal Palace play Liverpool. Both games were select by Sky Sports for the full live treatment.
