Who will take responsibility for this dangerous street lamp?
Friday, 30th July 2021
• THERE’S a dangerous street lamp outside my house.
The light has detached from the lamp, hangs by its thin electric cable, and dangles over pedestrians and cars as well.
For four days I’ve tried to warn Camden Council. It’s impossible to talk to anyone.
I’ve tried Camden’s website, its telephone. Street lighting appears to be sub-contracted to Cindex. Their website won’t take messages. No one will take responsibility.
Mysteriously, they accepted an e-dress I have never used so I managed to obtain a case number. Who knows what that means?
Camden Council has created a public danger but does not take responsibility.
I wonder if this hazard is not another of the pernicious costs of central government starving councils of sufficient funding, thereby forcing them to sub-contract their services.
