Who took the decision that has encouraged fly-tipping?

• SINCE when has it been Camden policy to encourage fly-tipping?

Until recently the council responsibly provided several large community waste and recycle bins at the corner of Belsize Grove and Haverstock Hill.

The bins have been there for as long as I remember and they have always been heavily used by residents. So heavily used in fact that when Camden has been slow to clear the bins they have overflowed.

Now, suddenly and without consultation or local warning, all the bins have been removed. Wholly predictably there is now serious fly-tipping in the immediate area.

This is creating a significant health, safety and fire risk, with an accumulation round nearby homes of flammable materials and rotting food to attract vermin.

In the interests of health, safety and civic responsibility Camden should urgently replace the community bins on their original, long-established site; and also tell us all who took a decision that incites fly-tipping, why they took it and why they did so by stealth.
