Comparing repression at home & abroad…

• YOUR report on undercover policing was interesting, (Revealed: “spy cops” followed protesting teenagers, May 12).

It seems MI5 and Scotland Yard felt opposition to racist right-wing groups was more of a threat to national wellbeing than that posed by those groups themselves.

Worryingly illuminating about “the powers that be”. Is it different today?

There is currently a lot of discussion about the situation in Russia, with control and repression of the population. This, frighteningly, sounds rather similar!
