• THANKS for admirable investigative journalism, (Revealed: Heath guardians spent £315k on ‘wining and dining’, February 4).

City Councillor Graham Harrower is revealed as a champion of democratic accountability and the open society.

The only thing to add to this triumph of public enlightenment and truth telling is that the £315k spent on such luxurious feasting and drinking by City councillors, appears to come from charitable funds administered by the corporation for charitable purposes? Can that be true?
