What’s the council’s strategy for helping with food security?

• THERE is an ever increasing need to provide essential food regularly to more Camden families.

Families falling outside the criteria for free school meals are also over-burdened by the rise in energy bills – a new tier of victims of the cost of energy crisis.

School facilities and community rooms on housing estates acting as hubs for food distribution could form part of the support our residents need. Libraries can help to provide warm spaces for study for overcrowded families.

As we approach the beginning of the school year, can Camden’s cabinet state clearly what the council’s policy is on new and vital food security measures and when they can be implemented?
