• I USED to work in the National Temperance Hospital which was a lovely vast building until it was demolished to make way for HS2 – disturbing many jobs and tenants in nearby flats, restaurants and many other people.

I eventually retired and did volunteering in the St Pancras Hospital until 2019. I do not understand why the hospital is now gone and, with so many homeless folk, why it could not have been used to house them.

There were lots of kitchens on every floor with warmth and accommodation for all. How sad – what a terrible waste!

With winter coming, homelessness is on the increase. Why were folk not asked? Where will this all end? I hope with lots more flats being built for the needy.
