WAC Arts at old Hampstead Town Hall

Wac Arts in Belsize Park

• I WANT to clarify the cost of a senior Wac Arts class is £4, not £5 as incorrectly cited, (Courses are cut back and prices go up at famous arts college, October 2).

I also want to clarify that the majority of classes at Wac Arts have reduced in cost as we strive to ensure classes are affordable for all.

Junior Wac Arts classes have been reduced from £3 to £2.50 as we have managed to ensure some classes are online in the event of a second lockdown.

A slight increase to senior Wac Arts from £3 to £4 is a temporary measure and has been done to fairly reimburse the tutors’ time as the classes are now 30 minutes longer.

We had to adapt our schedule as a direct result of Covid-19 as many students did not want to attend for fear of infection. So, following feedback, we changed the schedule to offer fewer senior classes but made them last longer.

We have asked for payment up front to avoid cash payments, as per government guidelines, to reduce infection.

However exceptions will be made where this is prohibitive as our priority remains to ensure affordable classes for all. Bursaries are still available.

There was some incorrect information sent out to students previously but this was corrected on September 29 with a personal note and apology from me.
