Christmas Day swim 2016 Hampstead Heath ponds

Swimmers take a dive at Hampstead Heath Ponds

• COMPARE charging to use the Hampstead ponds with approaches in other large cities in the world such as Toronto, where outdoor public pools are free to use and funded by city town hall, (D-Day over Hampstead ponds swim charges, March 6).

All are staffed by several lifeguards. But here we can’t even allow a murky pond to swim in for free. So mean-spirited. Instead it’s about how to make money. Sadly this seems to be a characteristic of the Corporation of London.
