What if we don’t want to pay by credit card?

• CAMDEN a one party state?

It sure is going that way. For complicated reasons, I had to pay for a residents’ parking permit but did not want to use my credit card. I was told that this is the only way to pay.

There are many reasons why a resident might not have or might not wish to use a card, one being that they might not wish the council to incur unnecessary charges… but this arrogant and self-opinionated department permits no alternative method.

No cheques, no bank transfer, nothing.

In order to make the sum unique for searching purposes, I added a few pence on the amount owed, went to my bank, and asked them to pay it into the account used for council tax.

I suppose I could file a formal complaint but I’m not holding my breath. I did so in April about a parking bay suspension issue. The complaints department ignored it.

I went to the local government ombudsman, who said that it couldn’t be handled because it hadn’t gone through the council’s process, and that I should write directly to council leaders.

This I did. And guess what happened… nothing.

In demanding only credit card payments, who is the head of parking actually working for, Camden or Barclaycard?
