A BLOGGER who has written about the experience of coming to terms with his wife's death when a car mounted the pavement in West Hampstead is to have his memoir published in a new book.
Desreen Brooks, 33, died after the incident in West End Lane in November last year. The car narrowly missed her husband Ben and now 3-year-old son Jackson.
Mr Dutton-Brooks' blog, Life as a Widower, was an instant hit across the UK when it launched in January as a way for the public relations director to reach out to other bereaved men and cope with his wife's death.
Yesterday (Tuesday), he announced that Hodder & Stoughton will publish his first book, 'It's not Raining Daddy, it's Happy', in spring next year.
The 33-year-old said that the title was taken from a comment made by his son, whose positive outlook was helping his family come to terms with their pain.“The memoir will be dedicated to my beautiful wife and son and I’ll write it on behalf of anyone who has been touched by the pain of loss and grief,” he added.
