STAR player Reggie Murphy helped West End FC get back to winning ways in the Camden and Regent’s Park Youth League on Saturday as the rapidly-emerging side “showed their quality” against Totally Goal Falcons.

The Under-11s side, which is playing up an age group in the Under-12s 9 vs 9 division, suffered a 3-0 defeat against HS FC in their previous outing. But the spirited squad quickly put that result behind them as goals from Murphy, Zain Duberry and Amani Richards saw them net a resounding 3-1 victory over the Falcons at Regent’s Park.

“The boys were outplayed in their previous game and were deservedly beaten by HS FC,” said manager Peter Chapman. “But they bounced back with a strong performance against the Falcons and really showed their quality.”

West End’s other Under-12s team were also celebrating after starting the defence of their League Cup with a 4-2 victory over Totally Goal Hawks.

The Hawks flew into an early lead but goals from Burt Thorne, Bruno Lansdowne, Danny Brown and Mason Kirkwood saw West End battle back to secure a thrilling 4-2 win.

Brown scored the pick of the goals as he somehow managed to find the back of the net straight from a corner.
