PLAYERS from West End FC put their game faces on at the weekend when they joined scores of top teams for the start of the new season in the Camden and Regent’s Park Youth League.

The Under-10s side got their campaign off to the perfect start as they netted a hard-fought 3-1 win over The Heath FC.

The Heath started brightly and took a deserved lead, but the West Enders were soon on level terms after Shay Blackwood added the finishing touches to a defence-splitting pass by Luc Carrier Sanders.

The Carlton primary pupil completed the comeback when he scored his second of the game from distance, before captain Freddie Geraghty, who put in a solid performance in midfield, made the points safe with a clinical finish from the edge of the box.

Defender Kaine Jones Sayer was also on song for West End, and was unlucky not to add his name to the scoresheet when his pile driver went just inches wide.
