Trees on Prince of Wales Road, and the new green water bags

• I WOULD like to congratulate Camden Council on a small, but highly successful, policy.

It is the introduction of green water bags under the new trees that it plants on our streets.

In the past many would have died by this time of the year and would certainly not have survived the heat of the past few days.

But these bags, which are installed when the trees are planted, and regularly filled with water by the council have done the trick!

It also means trees don’t have to be replaced year after year, as can be seen from trees on Prince of Wales Road, which are all thriving.

Well done for introducing this innovation.
