• WELL done to Glenda Jackson, our former MP. She’s won the Evening Standard Best Actor Award for King Lear.

It’s nice to be right, occasionally, as my November 17 2016 letter said: “I’m sure Jackson will win awards.” I also said: “It’s nice to know some MPs have talents amid a lot of dross.”

This seems right, too, with the Brexit debacle. Her next play could be about that!
