WEST BROM 0, ARSENAL 1
MATCH-winner Danny Welbeck is confident his goal against West Brom will spark a scoring spree.
The striker netted his seventh goal for the club on Saturday when he beat his marker to power home Santi Cazorla’s cross on the hour mark, earning Arsenal a 1-0 win at the Hawthorns.
Welbeck had not scored in the league since his late equaliser in Arsenal’s 2-2 draw with Hull City in mid-October. But now he is back on the scoresheet, he is confident more will follow.
“I’ve had a couple blocked off the line in recent games and it just wasn’t going my way, but I’ve got the goal and I’m just looking forward to scoring more and helping the team to win games," said the England international.
"It gives the manager a good headache and he’s got a lot of options going forward. Going into the games, everybody’s going to be giving 100 per cent.
"There’s players who were on the bench or weren’t even in the squad who can do a very good job for Arsenal. Once they get their opportunity, they’re going to do the best they can."
Arsene Wenger’s side, who sealed their first victory in three Premier League games, had a string of chances to make the game more comfortable, with Welbeck, Olivier Giroud and Cazorla all going close.
West Brom almost made the Gunners pay for failing to find that second goal late on when Saido Berahino headed against the crossbar late on.
