• ON Thursday I was informed that, despite being on the Camden allotment waiting list for over 15 years, all of that waiting has been for nothing.

Camden Council decided to not only stop recording the positions of those on the list but to close the list altogether, without any notification for those waiting.

Not only that. A new waiting list has been created for one allotment only (Westcroft estate), with those like me who have been waiting for a decade and a half having to start all over again.

Maybe, in three decades’ time, I may actually get to the top of that list (if Camden Council don’t decide to throw it out and start over yet again).
