• WE were deeply saddened to be told that our much-loved regular street cleaner Andrew has passed away suddenly after being hospitalised a couple of weeks ago.

Andrew was a familiar face in the heart of Camden Town, with his white Santa-like beard and warm, unassuming, presence.

My five-year-old dog adored him. He had known Andrew since he was a rambunctious puppy and always pulled me towards him for a scritch behind the ears whenever he spotted him.

We would exchange a few words about the weather or the latest comings and goings on Inverness Street. Sometimes we talked about dog training and the canine companion Andrew had back in the day in Bradford.

He was a lovely man and many of us around Inverness Street and the high street will miss him dearly. RIP Andrew. Camden is a poorer place without you in it.
