We want to work with Camden Council
Thursday, 11th June 2020
• FURTHER to John Cottrell’s letter (Why won’t Camden allow the one-way Zipcar flex system to operate? June 4), at Zipcar we share Camden’s ambition for more walking, cycling and public transport in the borough in order to deliver air quality improvements.
Research over 10 years has shown that by moving from private ownership to shared vehicles, car-sharing enables more people to walk, cycle and take public transport.
Environmental benefits of both round-trip and one-way services are nearly the same.
Our fleets of vehicles are either low- or zero-emission and we have 325 electric vehicles, the majority of which are in our one-way service, Flex.
However, Camden is one of only two inner London boroughs that hasn’t allowed Zipcar to operate its one-way service.
We are keen to work with Camden to make this happen to help deliver a fairer system that enables all workers to access clean, efficient and affordable transport 24/7.
