• THE Carillion scandal has highlighted the fact that the public sector should now be the default provider of public services.

If we win this ward from the Conservatives in the May elections we will do everything in our power to ensure public services provided by the council are brought in-house wherever sensible and possible.

We would also like to see when services are contracted out, as may in some cases be necessary, that locally-run businesses are the beneficiaries.
