• I HAD never contacted any councillor for assistance but when I did I was perplexed when she expressed concern but did nothing.

I had expected her to deal with the relatively straightforward issues by at least contacting the appropriate council department with questions. I had already tried myself to no avail.

The two unrelated issues were: first, brambles that were creating a health and safety hazard across the road I then lived on. I now discover from your October 14 issue the councillor has switched to the Green Party.

The second health and safety issue was a rogue landlord not complying with an environment officer’s abatement order to repair the bathroom of a let property. This caused distress for the landlord’s tenants and their neighbours.

Again I found the response of the councillor disappointing. By all means think global and work for a green future, but act local and attend to your ward.

We want councillors who can get things done, people who can serve the residents of north west London.
