We need borough-wide strategies against knife crime
Friday, 23rd August 2019
• FOLLOWING the most recent fatal stabbing we heard yet more pious words from councillors.
What is needed, and this is even acknowledged in its own glossy report, is for Camden Council to develop and implement borough-wide strategies, linking employment, education, mental health, diversionary activities and, of course, more effective policing.
Also we need areas to look “cared for”, not overwhelmed by fly-tipping, gang tag-related graffiti, drug dealing and open drug use. In Camden some parents with teenage children are even looking to move away. Who can blame them?
