We need an apology from Cllr Simon Pearson
Thursday, 13th September 2018
• I AM astonished and dismayed that one of my local councillors would attend a demonstration against measures to protect Jews like myself. At a time when we need more cohesion in society, this sort of ugly behaviour has no place in our politics.
Unless we see a sincere apology from Cllr Simon Pearson, myself and many others will use our votes to drive racism out of our politics at the next election. It was actions like these by Labour leaders that prevented me from voting Labour in the last local election, and that saddened me.
I hope Cllr Pearson will recant and, if not, that Camden Labour will take urgent disciplinary action. I would like to be able to renew my faith in the Labour Party and its ethos of inclusiveness and anti-racism. Enough is enough.
