Rubbish-Farrant letter

Hazardous waste found next to a young person’s play area in Queen’s Crescent

• DAVID Reed’s letter (Camden needs a new service contract for rubbish collection, May 20) exposes only part of the alarming “rubbish” problem.

This pile of hazardous, binless waste (pictured above), which is to be found right next to a young person’s play area in Queen’s Crescent, was reported on May 13 and still there as I write.

What is needed is a total “system review”, including that of the role of the council’s cabinet member who has overall responsibility for such matters.

This review must include residents who see the rubbish situation on a daily basis, not just the opinions of officers who are rarely seen in this area.
