We must heal the divisions
Thursday, 20th June 2024
• IT was surprising that the June 13 CNJ missed an important local story: the arrest of six people during clashes near the Kentish Town tube.
I believe they were part of Andrew Feinstein’s campaign, which you have highlighted over the last two weeks.
Relentlessly one sided, pro-Palestinian, they have done little to acknowledge the complexity of the Middle East conflicts or the atrocities committed by Hamas, which triggered the tragic conflict now under way.
Little surprise that they resulted in a conflict near the tube with people who took a very different view.
It is just the same tactic that George Galloway has been using up and down the country.
This is cheap populism. Their campaigns are angry, divisive, and designed to split our communities.
Both campaigns are backed by the same far-left media outlets. No wonder they resulted in fighting and arrests.
Camden is wonderful precisely because we bring people together. We rub shoulders with men and women from across the world, and across the political spectrum.
Long may it continue. We must heal divisions, not exacerbate them.
