HOW apposite Tony Benn’s 2009 analysis has transpired! (‘We have failed the children of the world’, Review December 8): “Just as in wartime people expect the government to support them against the threats they face, so in times of economic crisis they’re entitled to expect the same… (However) One of the greatest weaknesses of the Labour Party even when it’s in office, is never to be seen campaigning for what it believes in, but campaigning for re-election.”
