• OUR whole household was woken in panic in the early hours on Friday when a military troop carrier helicopter undertook exercises on Hampstead Heath, just behind the lido.

This giant aircraft shakes all the buildings and the noise can be heard all around. Everybody in our flat was woken and the children were upset when we saw the troops at the doors carrying machine guns.

All this in the context of the recent terrorist events in London. Every few months the Royal Air Force does this. We don’t want military exercises in built-up areas in the middle of the night!
