We don’t need featureless, bland, housing estates

• I WAS shocked to learn more about the scale of the development for the Camden Goods Yard and how local views have been ignored (Alliance formed to fight massive Chalk Farm retail park development, November 16).

Camden needs more houses, nobody would argue against that, but surely the type of houses and who they are aimed at is hugely important.

We need more affordable homes and social housing and to build communities, not just knock up featureless, bland, housing estates.

This development proposal appears only to be about squeezing the maximum amount of ill-thought-out housing into this site and not about building a pleasant living environment integrated with the rest of Camden Town.

The road and pedestrian access appears to be deficient and unsafe for all users and will only add to the congestion in Chalk Farm Road which no one would wish to see, particularly the emergency services.
