We didn’t even get a break from the building noise over Easter
Friday, 17th April 2020
• IT’S bad enough that building sites continue to operate during the lockdown as if their workers are somehow superhuman and can’t get sick.
But it really is beyond the pale that Camden Council granted them permission to work over Easter to the detriment of residents.
I’m sure the site workers would have preferred to have some time off with their families too.
The site opposite our building has been operational for many long years so residents now expect to get a break from the incessant noise on a bank holiday, as has always been the case.
Now that most of us are having to stay at home in our tiny flats a bit of peace and quiet would do us a lot of good.
I myself was very much looking forward to Good Friday expecting to get some respite from constant noise so I was rather brassed off to be woken not long after 6am by the site.
Fifty-seven of the 134 flats in our building face the building site. Shame on Camden for allowing this work, giving residents no respite from the noise and pollution.
