Water palaver
Thursday, 18th November 2021
• THAMES Water spent most of the summer digging up West End Lane to replace old pipes.
We were told work would finish by the end of July. It did – but now it is digging up the other side of West End Lane, to replace old pipes.
Isn’t it a bit disingenuous to tell us work will be finished, without saying work will be finished on one side only: we’ll be back?
Residents are fed up with traffic congestion, closed bus stops, and the reduction in pavement space. At the moment there is barely room for two people to pass between the shops and barriers.
This work will apparently take six weeks. But does that mean they will then just move further down the road?
We want our neighbourhood back.
