‘Competition has cost football fans 50 per cent more’
• WATCHING English Premier League football live used to be simple. You went to the ground, or to the pub, or you bought Sky Sports, with highlights on the BBC.
Then the European Union got involved saying that selling all English Premier League games as one package was anti-competitive. So games were split into several packages.
To watch all my team’s EPL games I now have to buy Sky Sports, Amazon, BT Sport and… soon to be more. All this “competition” has cost football fans 50 per cent more.
