WITH residents of the Chalcots waiting and waiting for a deal to be brokered to renovate their estate, young residents in the tower blocks made their own film about the fight for investment in their homes. In Tower Blocked (2005), Paul Perkins, from The Winch, challenged the council, the government and the council to explain why people were being left in an estate in disrepair. The frustration in every interview is clear.  Twelve years later, Mr Perkins was at the Chalcots emergency rest centre helping evacuated residents. It is published here with Mr Perkins’ permission.
