Watch out, cyclists about on the towpath
Friday, 29th May 2020
• IN response to the letters about cyclists (May 14 issue), the writers should try walking along the canal towpath, (Tacks attacks on cyclists, perhaps Royal Parks should step in, and Some cyclists are a problem and we should deal with them),
The path in some places is barely wide enough for two pedestrians to pass, yet cyclists and joggers seem to think they have a divine right to use it to the exclusion of everybody else.
I even remarked to one that the roads have never been so empty after he started shaking his head as I wouldn’t jump into the water to get out of his way.
It’s time there were speed bumps put along the towpath to stop this idiots before they cause someone serious injury.
