ARSENAL Ladies are still awaiting their first home win of the season in the Women’s Super League after conceding a last-gasp equaliser against Notts County on Sunday.

The hosts got off to the perfect start at Meadow Park when they were awarded a penalty nine minutes in after Danielle Brogan had felled Danielle Carter in the box. In the absence of Kelly Smith, who failed a fitness test just before kick off, Casey Stoney (pictured) stepped up and calmly sent Carly Telford the wrong way.

The Gunners should have extended their lead with skipper Alex Scott, Jordan Nobbs and Yukari Kinga all wasting good chances to settle the tie.

Notts County threw players forward in search of an equaliser and they found one in the final five minutes when Arsenal failed to clear a long ball.

This allowed debutante Fiona O’Sullivan to drill a snap volley into the bottom corner of the net and earn the Lady Magpies a 1-1 draw.
