Victims of King's Cross fire named as police continue murder investigation

THE two victims of a suspicious house fire in King's Cross have been named.
Othamane Majdouline, 48, who lived in Stelfox House in Penton Rise and 47-year-old Leandro Da Silva from the Six Acres Estate in Finsbury Park were found dead inside a flat on Friday (2 January).
Police and the London Fire Brigade are still investigating the cause of the blaze, which is being treated as suspicious, while post-mortem investigations are being carried out on the victims at the Whittington Hospital Mortuary. Next of kin have been notified.
Emergency services were called to Stelfox House in King's Cross at around 7.20pm on Friday. The two men inside the flat were pronounced dead at the scene.
Three arrests have been made in relation to the incident. A 42-year-old woman was arrested on Sunday (January 4) on suspicion of murder and bailed to return at a later date this month. Two further arrests were made yesterday (January 5) – a 37-year-old man is currently in police custody on suspicion of murder and a 44-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of obstructing police, but has been released without charge.
Detective Chief Inspector Glen Lloyd, of the Homicide and Major Crime Command, who is leading the investigation said: "I would like to appeal to anyone in the Penton Rise area who has seen or heard anything unusual between 5-8pm to contact police immediately. Two men have died and my team are eager to hear from anyone who was in the area or passing by before or just after this fire started.
"If you were in the area at the time, you may well have witnessed what occurred or seen something that could assist our investigation."
