Danish winger Katrine Veje signs for Arsenal, watched by Gunners boss Joe Montemurro
ARSENAL have moved quickly to snap up their first signing of 2019 by bringing in Denmark winger Katrine Veje from French side Montpellier.
The Women’s Super League leaders unveiled the 27-year-old on Wednesday, with manager Joe Montemurro saying she will add even more “experience and professionalism” to his squad.
“She understands what it takes to win trophies,” Montemurro told the club’s official website. “Her variety of experience playing in different leagues around the world should help her adapt to the competitive standard of the WSL.”
Reflecting on her big move, Veje, who has enjoyed spells playing in Denmark, Sweden and the United States, said: “Arsenal is a big club. I played against them in the Toulouse Cup with Montpellier and I really like the style of play and how they move for each other and the group, so I’m very happy to be here.”
Arsenal return to league action on Sunday following the winter break, with a tough away game against West Ham.
